I was diagnosed with a wet form of macular degeneration approximately eight years ago and seen by a retinal specialist in Duke Ophthalmology initially every three months, then six months and then once a year. I refused injections into my eyes and started taking a lutein compound. I added Vision Alive in the fall of 2022. On my last annual visit on May 1st, the specialist looked at the images, didn't even look at my eyes and said everything was stable, no change and perhaps this was "idiopathic," a term I just looked up meaning "of unknown cause." Oh, and I am 84!
