I went in for a routine endoscopy because I had chronic nausea and often vomited after eating. I was told I had Barrett's Esophagus, pre-cancer cells that can turn into esophageal cancer. I thought they were crazy because I had no burning sensations, yet they insisted people often don't have burning, and I needed to be on Omeprazole. I began taking Omeprazole and was told that I needed to have an Endoscopy once a year to make sure it was not turning cancerous. The longer I took the Omeprazole, the worse my nausea and vomiting became. In fact, I was throwing up at least once a day.
